Federal Aid Eligibility |

|
Students in the College of Professional Studies graduate programs must meet the following criteria to be eligible for Federal financial aid:
• be citizens or eligible non-citizens of the United States,
• be matriculated in an eligible program of study**,
• have received their high school diploma or G.E.D.,
• be registered with Selective Service if required,
• not be convicted of a drug related crime in the last year,
• not be in default from previous student loans, and
• maintain satisfactory academic progress |

Financial Aid Process |

Application
CPS students must complete and file the (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the CPS Institutional Application. Students interested in applying for financial aid for the current academic year should complete the 2007-2008 FAFSA application as well as the 2007-2008 Financial Aid Application.
Those individuals seeking to begin a program of study during the 2008-2009 academic year should complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA form. At this time, the 2008-2009 institutional application is not yet available; please check back later during the Spring term for this form.
Deadline
Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid early in the admissions process. Students do not need to be accepted for admissions in order to complete financial aid paperwork. We recommend that students apply for financial aid at least 3 weeks prior to beginning a program of study.
Awarding Timeline
CPS Students are awarded throughout the academic year once admissions decisions have been made and once we have received all financial aid application materials.
Award Letter
Students in the College of Professional Studies should pay particular attention to the number of credits listed on your financial aid award letter. If you have been awarded financial aid based on an enrollment status that is different from your actual enrollment, it is your responsibility to contact the Office of Student Financial Services to update the discrepancy. Faliure to do so may result in a decrease or complete refund of your financial aid during an academic term. |
