Changes In Enrollment - Study Abroad

  Financial Aid Eligibility
Students who participate in Study Abroad programs may be eligible to receive financial assistance. Students studying abroad through a Northeastern University program will receive the federal, state and University funds previously awarded for the term. Students studying abroad through a non-Northeastern program may only receive the Stafford Loan and Federal Pell Grant for which they qualify.

  Aid Application Process
Students who are planning to Study Abroad through a Northeastern University program do need to take any special action to receive their financial aid. Students who are planning to Study Abroad through another non-Northeastern program must complete a consortium agreement and obtain a completed transfer of credit form from their Academic Advisor. Students should speak to their financial aid counselor for more information.

  Additional Information
Students should resolve all blocks, especially financial blocks, prior to leaving for a study abroad program to ensure that their registration is not cancelled.

As credit refunds from financial aid and loans will not be available until after the University add/drop period, students should make arrangements for funds needed while abroad in advance of the start of their study abroad term.

For additional information, visit the website of the Office of International Study Programs.
