Undergraduate Day To Graduate |
|

Students who matriculate from an undergraduate day program to a graduate program must fill out the appropriate financial aid paperwork required for graduate students. If a student matriculates from an undergraduate to graduate program in the middle of an academic year, he or she should contact a financial aid counselor to determine what impact previously awarded financial aid will have on a future award. Students should continue to communicate with their undergraduate financial aid counselor until they have officially matriculated into the graduate program. |

Sixth Year Physical Therapy And Pharmacy Students |
|
| |
|
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT) and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) represent two unique programs here at Northeastern in which students change from undergraduate students to graduate students during the final years of their program.
In order to make the transition from undergraduate to graduate student, students should be aware of the following policies:
• PT and PharmD students must fill out the FAFSA in order to receive financial aid.
• PT and PharmD tudents do not need to provide parental information on the FAFSA form for their final year of study.
• The majority of financial aid at the graduate level is in the form of loans. Graduate students are not eligible to receive Pell Grant, FSEOG grant or state grant funding. Additionally, PT and PharmD students who were receiving Northeastern Grant as undergraduate students will not receive this funding as Graduate students.
• PT and PharmD students that were recipients of most merit scholarships as undergraduates are allowed to keep these funds during their graduate year. During the six year of these program, the per-semester tuition charge is less than the rate charged during the undergraduate years. As a result, the scholarship amount in the sixth year of the program is prorated based on the actual tuition charges.
• Graduate students are eligible to borrow up to a maximum of $18,500 in the Stafford loan program.
• PT and PharmD students do not need to fill out another Federal entrance interview or Master Promissory Note if they borrowed federal loans at Northeastern as an undergraduate.
**Please note: For physical therapy and pharmacy students who borrowed loans during their undergraduate years, it is recommended that students contact the lender of their loans after the completion of their 5th year of study. These students should request that an In-school Deferment Form be sent to them. Once the form is received, students should take the form to the Registrar’s Office here at Northeastern so that their graduation date can be updated with the lending institution to include the final year of study.
